WEAR AND TEAR - CLAUDE CAHUN angel T
WEAR AND TEAR - CLAUDE CAHUN angel T
Claude Cahun defied the gender binary before we had the language to describe it. It features one of their 1920s self-portraits and our signature slogan, ANGELS HAVE NO GENDER in a discrete text at the top left of the graphic, bleached lines, and unique hand-cut holes.
This bright red 100% cotton T was upcycled from unwanted promotional T-shirts discarded by a business in our neighborhood. We helped them manage this excess garment "waste" by turning unloved tops into a unique pieces that celebrate queerness, transformation, fluidity and creative self expression. We love them for their non-automated, DIY feel, and cropped boxy fit.
Special edition of this top made in collaboration with Wear and Tear. By upcycling second-hand garments, Wear and Tear throws a wrench into the fashion system that demands hyper-consumerism. The hand-cut garments evolve with every day use. More use begets more love.
