SLASH & SPREAD screen printed shorts

Screen-printed shorts with bright pink Official Rebrand and OR?! logos over light denim upcycled jeans. We unearthed them from our archive for a third redesign. Originally shaped as long skinny jeans, these bottoms were cut and restructured into shorts with a wider leg, updated for a more relevant look. The method echoes an early upcycling/tailoring technique called "slash and spread". One-of-a-kind piece.

Original garment cut and sewn by workers in China. Rebranded originally in Bushwick, Brooklyn and redesigned in Ridgewood, Queens in 2024 by MI Leggett.

To best conserve your clothes and other resources, only wash when you need to. When you do, turn the garment inside-out and use cold water on the gentle cycle or by hand with standard or mild detergent. Safe to tumble dry, but for most sustainable dry, lay flat or hang. No bleach, Oxiclean, Dreft, extra-strength, or "stainfighting" soap.
