Although the major differences between “men’s” and “women’s” clothing lie in their marketing, there are a few traditional tailoring distinctions, most of which are arbitrary. For example, for no relevant reason, button-down shirts are gendered based on which side of the garment the buttons/buttonholes are placed. 

The essence of Official Rebrand’s mission is to revive unwanted clothing and reintroduce it, rejecting this sewn-in binary, and making it available for anyone who feels fabulous enough to wear it. 

Our latest binary-rejecting tailoring project has been to alter lightly worn second-hand shirts so the buttons are on both sides. 

Sizing in inches and descriptions of variants: 

Red short sleeve: shoulder to shoulder 15 / chest 38 / highest point shoulder to hem 20. This shirt features black stitching and along the edges and two front pockets. 

Pearly snap western:Marked size XL: shoulder to shoulder 18.5 / chest 47 / highest point shoulder to hem 27.5 / shoulder to cuff 29. This shirt features pearly snap button closures and marled blue and white 100% cotton fabric. Made in New York, rebranded in Queens, NY 11385.

Washed black Wrangler short sleeve: shoulder to shoulder 21 / chest 52 / highest point shoulder to hem 26 / shoulder to cuff 11. Original garment made in Kenya, 100% cotton.

Olive with orange detail and back embroidery: marked size L, shoulder to shoulder 19. 5 / chest 38 / highest point shoulder to hem 23 / shoulder to cuff 26. Original garment made in India, 100% cotton.

Tommy Hilfiger denim long sleeve: shoulder to shoulder 18 / chest 40 / highest point shoulder to hem 24 / shoulder to cuff 26.5. Original garment made in Bangladesh and marked size M. Features two front pockets, thick denim fabric, tortoiseshell snap closures, and western shoulder stitching. 

Gingham collarless: marked size S short: shoulder to shoulder 17.5 / chest 38 / highest point shoulder to hem 22 / shoulder to cuff 24. Features a front pocket and a unique removed collar, original garment constructed in Madagascar, rebranded in Queens, NY 11385.

Black short sleeve: shoulder to shoulder 19 / chest 42 / highest point shoulder to hem 24.5 / shoulder to cuff 10. Original garment made in Morocco. 

Grey pearly-buttoned short sleeve: shoulder to shoulder 16 / chest 38 / highest point shoulder to hem 29 / sleeve 7.5. This shirt features buttons with a pearly look and a soft slightly stretchy fabric. 

Light blue/grey long sleeve: shoulder to shoulder 20 / chest 50 / highest point shoulder to hem 23 / sleeve 23.5. Original garment made in Hong Kong, features pretty pearly buttons. 

Linen sky: shoulder to shoulder 17.5 / chest 42 / highest point shoulder to hem 23 / sleeve 24. Shirt features a soft 67% linen/33% cotton blend. Originally marked size S, made in Vietnam.
