TRAINING TANK - claude cahun

This made to order series celebrates Claude Cahun's enduring influence on art and queer history with new compositions derived from one of their most celebrated photographs: a weight-training flapper who's gender is simultaneously illegible and yet undeniably on display. To honor Cahun's legacy a portion of the profits from this shirt will be donated to the Trans Youth Emergency Project to support access to live-giving gender-affirming care in states where it is banned. 

For this design we took two alternate shots from this 1920s self portrait series, less well-known than the leading image (included in this product images) and made an additional print with the text on Cahun's shirt "I AM IN TRAINING DON'T KISS ME".  Pick your favorite version and we'll hand print it on a ribbed tank just for you. Just the text, just the image, or both together.

Unlike most OR, these shirts are not upcycled, but they are made to order so there is absolutely no waste. We print them to order, just for you, with love and without excess. Please allow up to 2 weeks for creation.

To best conserve your clothes and other resources, only wash when you need to. When you do, turn the garment inside-out and use cold water on the gentle cycle or by hand with standard or mild detergent. Safe to tumble dry, but for most sustainable dry, lay flat or hang. No bleach, Oxiclean, Dreft, extra-strength, or "stainfighting" soap.
