A DANCE CLASS WITH JOSIE BETTMAN

While under COVID-19-induced lockdown, I've been coping with my dependence on the dancefloor as an essential space for self-determination, seeking new ways of witnessing and being witnessed. Through the practice of this class, I seek to conduct energy, trying to sustain queer frequencies through recourse to sensorial connection via the webcam.
While assisting with the class' development, Official Rebrand designer MI Leggett began experimenting with dancewear, drawing influences ranging from the work of dancer/designer Yumiko Takeshima, to Berlin club culture, to their experience of the class's movement vocabulary. - Josie Bettman

It's meant to offer ideas for experimenting with your own movement practice, finding ways to carve pleasure and connection in response to constraints.
