We rescued these pants and restructured them, giving them a chance at second life. Originally shaped as long straight jeans, these bottoms were cut and reworked into shorts with a wider leg, updated for a more relevant look. The method echoes an early upcycling/tailoring technique called "slash and spread". Additionally, a second pair of hidden pockets for extra stealth storage was added layered over the existing back pocket for the navy corduroy shorts and a single additional pocket was added to the back of the dark denim shorts.

When you do, turn the garment inside-out and use cold water on the gentle cycle or by hand with standard or mild detergent. Safe to tumble dry, but for most sustainable dry, lay flat or hang. No bleach, Oxiclean, Dreft, extra-strength, or "stainfighting" soap.
